2013 Summer Reading Program
Dig Into Reading!
These Kids Dig Into Reading!
We had another wonderful finale event for our 2013 Summer Reading Program. Over 50 area youth participated in the program with a total attendance of 278. This year 29 young people completed the program. To do so, they had to meet reading goals as well as participate in weekly activities.

The younger group learned about caves, rocks, fossils and bones. They even had a live demonstration on how to grow your own worms complete with worms to hold! Our older youth focused on the Underground Railroad - lots of interesting information about that important part of our nation's history.

It was not all work since we had a number of games and activities that were pertinent to our reading such as making a quill pen and blueberry ink!
